A student from the Belle Vernon Area, age 6, dies after being struck by a vehicle
The First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon’s yard was decorated with a pinwheel, vibrant flowers, and a plush white lamb on Friday afternoon by the Rev. Mary Kay Glunt.
When Aria Woznick saw it, she sobbed and bowed in front of it.
Memorabilia left by Glunt marked the spot where Woznick’s daughter Aria, 6, was struck by a car hours earlier as she crossed the street in front of the North Belle Vernon church. Aria was a first-grader at Marion Elementary School.
At about 8:10 a.m., the girl was struck while walking to her bus stop with her two siblings, according to North Belle Vernon police chief Eugene Lipari.
.
Aria was transported by medical chopper to UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, but she subsequently passed away, according to family members.
The accident happened in the 400 block of Fayette Street while Aria was with her sister Emma, 9, brother Caleb, 8, and older friends, according to Aria’s father, Timothy Woznick.
Her mother, Amanda, remarked, “She must not have seen the vehicle.”
According to Lipari, the driver pulled over and cooperated with the authorities. He opted not to name the driver.
According to Amanda, her daughter loved living.
She claimed that “she was always rushing around.”
Timothy claimed that his daughter frequently had problems at school.
“She was acquainted with the security officer. He recognized her by her given name. Even though she was terrible, everyone still adored her, he claimed.
