Displayed during a recent meeting of the club’s fan advisory board (FAB), the new crest takes the form of a shield and features a yellow lion on a blue background, reminiscent of the current badge.

What's your opinion about the new Aston Villa crest that's been leaked?
To us, it checks all of the boxes. Full club name, year founded, iconic lion, and one star for the European title. It's a classic look for a historic club. #UTV #AVFC pic.twitter.com/Q6sS39z1fY

The shield is bordered in claret and white, with a shadow behind the lion. The numbers ‘1874’ appear beneath the lion in white, accompanied by ‘Aston Villa’ in claret.

About Updated Design
This updated design will replace the current crest and round badge, the latter exclusively used on playing kits and training wear this season.
The decision to adopt the 1982-inspired design came after a fan vote with over 21,000 participants in November 2022. However, the newly appointed president of business operations, Chris Heck, found the round badge unsuitable for the long term, leading to the initiation of a new crest selection process.
Crest Selected Via Online Survey
The chosen crest, selected through an online survey with 16,000 respondents, is set to be in use from the start of the next season.
Despite Villa’s assertion of sufficient consultation, the FAB members have raised concerns with the FA, claiming that the club did not meet the required standards for thorough consultation as per the heritage protection regulations introduced last year.

Amidst a successful first half of the campaign, Aston Villa, under the management of Unai Emery, looks to reinforce its squad in pursuit of Champions League qualification and Europa Conference League success in May.
Summer additions, including Moussa Diaby and Youri Tielemans, have enhanced the team’s quality, with Pau Torres transforming the team’s playing style. Villa is prepared to support Emery in the current transfer window, having made astute signings like Alex Moreno and Jhon Duran.
As part of the squad adjustments, Villa is set to cut short Lamare Bogarde’s loan stint from Bristol Rovers due to the player’s struggle for regular minutes under new boss Matt Taylor.
The 19-year-old, initially loaned to the League One outfit in January of the previous year, has reportedly attracted interest from Sunderland and Aberdeen.
Former Villa assistant manager Michael Beale is reportedly considering bringing Bogarde to Sunderland as the midfielder seeks a more exposure-rich loan move.
