  • Seth Rollins calls CM Punk a hypocrite, accusing him of being selfish and wanting to take more from the industry.
  • Rollins expresses his frustration with Punk for talking down about him, the company, and their colleagues, feeling insulted by Punk's behavior.
  • WWE is preparing for a massive feud between Rollins and Punk, potentially leading to a match at Royal Rumble or even WrestleMania 40.

It's safe to say that WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins is no fan of CM Punk. That goes back to an interview where Rollins called Punk a cancer and told him to stay away from WWE, followed up by Rollins' meltdown at Survivor Series when Punk made his shocking return to WWE. While their feud is at a simmer right now, Rollins has labeled CM Punk as a hypocrite during a Raw promo and wasn't happy when Raw GM Adam Pearce said he was going to sign Punk to the Monday night brand.

Though Rollins' dislike for Phil Brooks might be real, the World Heavyweight Champion is smart enough to know there is money to be made with CM Punk. With that in mind, Rollins went after CM Punk in an interview on the Sports Illustrated Media Podcast with Jimmy Traina, perfectly blurring the lines between reality and fiction. Rollins said:

“For a guy (CM Punk) who when I met him, made it seem like he was all about giving back to the business, he really turned into a pretty selfish guy and really wanted to take more from the industry.”

“He (CM Punk) said some really bad things about me. Talked down about me for years, and the company (WWE), for years. I’m talking some really bad stuff. Called me a bootlicker and crap like that. You don’t know me. You don’t know what I stand for. I’m a loyal person, and I felt pretty insulted by a lot of the ways he treated me, treated the place I work for, treated friends that I worked with. I don’t need to get into any of the stuff with Colt Cabana if you want to look at that kind of stuff, that’s out there.” (h/t NoDQ.com )

Rollins also addressed his Survivor Series outburst, saying, “I understand why very few people knew what was going on that day. In the moment I was extremely emotional… It was a very raw, emotional response. It was what it was, I can’t take it back… I wish I would have handled myself with a little bit more composure.”

WWE is preparing for a huge feud between Seth Rollins and CM Punk, but one of these babyfaces is going to have to play the heel.

When Will We Get Seth Rollins Vs. CM Punk?

Reports suggest that WWE is imagining a Seth Rollins vs CM Punk match at Royal Rumble, which gives the promotion almost two months of build. While some think that WrestleMania 40 would be the idea spot for their rivalry, other reports say that WWE is thinking about having the dream match of CM Punk vs. "Stone Cold" Steve Austin there. This would potentially leave Rollins, if he is still World Heavyweight Champion, to have a title bout against someone like the long speculated Gunther.

No matter how WWE gets there and when the match happens, the feud between Rollins and Punk is going to be pure cinema.
